The Challenge
A creative workspace to match a rebellious urban brand
SLG is an international company, based in Cheltenham’s Brewery Centre. It creates and distributes beauty brands and has a cutting edge approach to creative design. This prestigious, new office development, comprising of over 30,000 sq/ft of open plan office space, would be an office fit out like no other.
SLG wanted a bespoke office workspace that was design-led, and that embodied their own brand aesthetic of urban chic. The ventilation, heating and air-conditioning systems would be exposed rather than concealed beneath floors or inside walls. The engineering and infrastructure had to be considered as integral to the architectural design.
The Solution

Woodward & Co. were well placed to answer this bespoke brief, with extensive experience in the Leisure sector, where ducting and air conditioning units and vents are often clearly ‘on display’. From the initial tender, Woodward & Co. had the advantage of an experienced in-house design team and a track record in bespoke Commercial construction projects. Their Mechanical Services proposal started by considering what the finished systems would look like and how they would be sympathetic to the overall creative vision for the space. Making sure that these functioned perfectly from a mechanical services engineering perspective was then straightforward.
